Duo Gnarls Barkley, ktoré tvoria DJ a producent Danger Mouse (Brian Burton) so spevákom a raperom Cee-Lo (Thomas Callaway), získalo tento rok aj cenu MTV Europe Music Awards ako najlepší nováčik a ich Crazy sa stala piesňou roka. Druhou najlepšou piesňou podľa Rolling Stoneu je Steady As She Goes skupiny The Raconteurs, ktorú založili Jack White z The White Stripes a gitarista Brendan Benson.
